Weekend in Sussex
March 20th 2005 -
Went down to Hailsham to pickup Amelia who has been staying at her Gran’s whilst Kathryn is away looking after her poorly Mum.
Tried to go Paragliding yesterday (Saturday) and ended up at High and Over near Alfriston. Proud to be in the right place at the right time, it came on just as I got there. My weather assessment skills are improving even if my flying ones aren’t. Didn’t actually get off the ground for more than a minute or two although there were several people getting to a few hundred feet in gentle thermals and later when the wind became soarable. high and Over is not the best place for me to re-start after a lay off though. Had another abortive trip out this afternoon and found no paragliders. Too windy I think.
Amelia seems to have had a fun week although she’s spent the weekend brushing gravel from Mum and Dad’s path (they have builders in doing a pond). Its scary how much she grows in a week. Kathryn is already home so looking forward to seeing her and Dominic tonight (although not to the drive back).
