French France
July 21st 2005 -
A week in French France at Le Maison Noix last week, a farmhouse about 50km South of Poitiers. A great time was had by all. The weather was extremely warm (the car said 36C one day) but we had a swimming pool to cool off in and the big thick stone walls of the cottage meant that it was always cool inside. Amelia had a great time swimming every day and we saw an amazing increase in Dominic’s confidence in the water too over the week.
Didn’t venture out much, mostly markets and supermarkets to buy yummy food and wine which was cooked on a Chiminea and consumed outside in the evenings. Mounted one expedition to Poitiers to have a look at this Medieval city (and go to the Hypermarche) but we’d forgotten it was Bastille day and the whole city was, quite literally, shut.
