Dominic is Christened
November 29th 2005 -
Dominic’s Christening was on Sunday and it turned out to be quite a big occasion. Janet, Sally and Mathew were Godparents and we also had Kathryn’s Dad there, my parents, Aunty Ellie and Uncle David, Simon, Janet, Sian and Kyra, Jeremy and Jodie, Helen, David and Daisy, Liz, Alistair, Alice and Isabel, Martin, and Lucy and Sam.
The Service itself was lovely except for the Vicar referring to Dominic as Declan until corrected (and also there was something to do with something being insanitary which I missed, can someone tell me what?).
The after-show-do was held at our house which could have been a mistake but seemed to go off OK. A smallish space was well filled, by all these people and Kathryn and Mum worked hard for nearly the whole week preparing a great lunch. My part in preparation was relegated to a bit of painting and amateur electrical work and some shopping on Saturday (oh and I did the invitations
)
The Cornwall contingent nearly didn’t make it having been buried by 9″ of snow on Friday night but they managed to dig themselves out before Sunday although they had to leave early Sunday morning instead of making their ways up in a slightly more leisurely fashion on the Friday or Saturday.
