Meebo
February 27th 2006 -
Meebo is Cool. Meebo means I can log into both Yahoo messenger and MSN messenger at the same time from a webpage (and at work too). Mabber is similar and I’ve been trying this out too but is a bit crap at the moment (i.e. it doesn’t work as it should). I’m gonna keep an eye on it ‘cos it maay be good once it gets out of beta and it is supposed to work on your (java enabled) phone too.

I am curious, what is the “bit crap” part of mabber? Where can we improve the site?

I was probably being a bit flippant with my “bit crap” comment in the meebo post. I’ve already posted about the problems I have with Mabber at the moment on the mabber blog and was replied to by fh.
Basically I was wanting to use Yahoo most of all on my phone and in mabber but this transport apparently doesn’t work properly i.e. the contacts list doesn’t update (not showing up on a phone at all and having to manually log on in the desktop client). I think meebo is slightly more polished at the moment (although clearly they don’t have a phone client) but I am keeping an eye on your product which I think might end up superior should you iron out some of the issues.
Hope I haven’t offended you.
