Accidental Wedding attendance

Paul Merchant’s wedding

Today was a MAD day. Went to Sam Shepherd’s (4 year old, not the actor) birthday party with the children in Bourne End, and on the way home decided to pop into Marlow for a look around. When we’d finished, I decided it’d be a good idea if we called round to the last address I had for Paul Merchant who we haven’t seen since before Amelia was born. I’ve been meaning to look him up since we moved because we’re so much closer than before.

When we got round to the address there was a big white chauffeured Rolls Royce outside and the place was teeming with bridesmaids. We thought we had the wrong house but Kathryn talked to the chauffeur and sure enough, we’d picked the day that he and Veronica were getting married. Paul had already been dropped off at the church (on the bridge in Marlow), so we dashed down there, Kathryn dropped me off because we couldn’t park and I caught  him just going in to wait for the bride. His face was a picture! We parked in the end and waited for them to come out, and I took some pictures on my phone (hence poorish quality). I think I sneaked into their wedding photos too :) .

It was one of those days full of coincidences where a couple of minutes either way would have meant that we would have seen none of it.

(To add to the strangeness I also got a text from Duncs, and an email from Andrew neither of whom I have talked to for about 6 months, probably 18 in Duncs’ case).
