Angel Skies
May 7th 2009 -
Some photos from our trip up north to Kathryn’s for family visits and things. First time for a year or two.
Good time, good weather and some lovely skies in Tynemouth and at the Angel of the North on the way home from there where we’d met up with Kathryn’s (relatively new
) sister, her husband and their (extremely new) new twins.
Bit of serendipity too. D is obsessed with Indiana Jones and I’d seen that Tesco’s had a hat and whip set which would be right up his street. Went out to check in Billingham, and was lucky to pick up the last one on the shelf (for £2.41). Pleased with this, but a little worried about not having got anything comparable for Amelia, I dropped into an department-y store in the town centre only to stumble across an Alethiometer, for a similar price and also the last one in the shop. This is a future divining device from the Dark Materials books which A is equally obsessed with at the moment. Result: I was superdad for an evening.
